The peplum is the big thing for spring 2012 and even the most frill-phobic will be caving in this season to take part in this hot trend. A peplum adds a feminine shape to a boyish silhouette or cleverly hides bits you might like to hide – so very flattering and so easy to wear. What’s not to like about that?
This new, modern version of the peplum is everywhere this Spring, from the tops of Jason Wu’s skirts (gorgeous), adorning dresses and trousers at Dries Van Noten, curling around tunics at Stella McCartney, and, adding a fuss-free feminine touch to a city classic motorcycle jacket at Vanessa Knox.
Do the peplum and check out our Milla Jacket - softest (English) weather-proof fawn faux suede with cut out detailing. Wear with jeans or to add a cool, tough edge to an evening dress.
We had so much fun shooting this new collection that I thought I would share some of our behind the scenes shots with you.
This season we took the location in-house (literally), a situation my kids weren’t that happy with as it meant they had to tidy their rooms…. only to find them “messed up” again when they came home from school!
Huge thank you’s to the VK Team for a great day with lots of laughs and killer shots and for the powers that be for bringing the sun! x
We were thrilled to hear Sienna Miller’s wonderful news that she is expecting her first baby with boyfriend Tom Sturridge. We are huge fans of Sienna’s style so we are even more delighted that she has become a VK customer. Have a look below at a couple of her recent additions (below).
Here she is below at the Ever-Changing Face of Beauty event at the Park Avenue Armory in New York last month, showing off her bump in a chic body con black halter neck gown.
Leah also has a little sleeveless sister Lola if you’re after something slightly different.
What a great way to end London Fashion Week - with the Jasper Garvida show at the Bloomsbury Hotel entitled “Revolutionaire Situation De la Forme”. It was high volume, edgy glamour all the way on the catwalk and in the audience. I loved the sharp precision tailoring with the military influence (as the title would suggest) but my favourites were the gold embellished black dresses which reminded me of Versace circa 1980 (which was Versace at it’s best in my humble opinion). One of the pieces that had everyone drooling was a body con, plunging neckline number with cascades of waist length gold fringe dripping from the shoulders. Yes please!
I want all of these!
